葬式の時に、出棺で棺を持てるのは精々8人です。引導を渡すのは数万の部下では無く、せいぜい8人だってこと。そう考えると、8人を上限にして、2人くらいには棺を持ってもらわないと引導を渡してくれないし、8人以上いても仕方ないという発想になりますね。
At most eight people can hold the coffin during a funeral.The people who give guidance are not tens of thousands of subordinates, but eight at most.I think about the idea is to limit the number of people to eight, and I won't be able to guide them unless at least two people carry the coffin, so there's no point in being more than eight people.

豊臣秀吉は賤ヶ岳七本槍（しずがたけのしちほんやり）、若江八人衆（わかえはちにんしゅう）は豊臣秀次の家臣団です。もちろん、徳川家康の徳川十六神将（とくがわじゅうろくしんしょう）は最も有名ですね。250年も天下を収めて16人なんですから、2人以上いれば良いやと思って人と接したいものです。
The Shizugatake Seven Spears were vassals of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and the Eight Wakae Sects were vassals of Hidetsugu Toyotomi.Of course Tokugawa Sixteen Generals are the most famous as vassals of Tokugawa Ieyasu.There are only 16 vassals that Ieyasu had ruled Japan for 250 years, so it would be nice to have two or more people when interacting with people.
